15 Years have passed since our company, UTILBEN, came to life.

We are delighted to celebrate this important anniversary and acknowledge all that we have accomplished and learned throughout these years.

Within the past 15 years, UTILBEN has become an important player in the market of heavy equipment for construction and agriculture. Our story began in 2006 when UTILBEN founders, Ruben Marian and Oana Marian, were the only employees of the company and had neither the financial resources nor the connections to help them develop their business. But what they lacked in resources, they made up for in enthusiasm. They wanted to see a transformation in the Romanian business landscape and aimed to create a business model based on integrity and character. These traits are the building blocks of UTILBEN’s business culture and we uphold them consistently in everything we do. To support small and medium enterprises, Ruben and Oana wanted to bring reliable and high-performance equipment on the Romanian market, and so they did.

Even though the first few years were quite difficult, Ruben and Oana didn’t give up. They believed in their mission, thus their perseverance and sustained efforts weren’t in vain. As a result, the company’s turnover and customer portfolio have been growing constantly each year. Furthermore, UTILBEN has managed to establish reliable partnerships with over 500 suppliers and manufacturers from all over the world.

 

Today, 15 years since our company’s founding, UTILBEN has a team of 70 highly qualified employees and has achieved an impressive turnover per company group of over 15 mil. €. We offer our customers a wide range of new and second-hand equipment, attachments, spare parts and a complete package of services. Moreover, we have built the largest online community in our country which brings together almost 70.000 machinery enthusiasts. Within this community, various entrepreneurs, builders and farmers are sharing useful information and tips regarding machinery.

UTILBEN’s constant growth is the result of our healthy business ethic where we uphold a set of core values ​​and an honest way of doing business. UTILBEN represents more than just a reliable equipment supplier. UTILBEN is a business where all its employees have adopted a set of moral values ​​that guide all their actions. These values remind us that we need to respect ethical principles in business in order to succeed.

Thanks to these values, throughout these past 15 years UTILBEN has had the opportunity to expand by creating new business units. Now we are able to offer our customers a complete package of products and services: new and second-hand equipment for construction and agriculture, attachments, spare parts, equipment rental, maintenance and repairs, financing services, consulting and logistical support.

In 15 years of activity, we have had our fair share of hard times, but we also had many great achievements. This was possible thanks to our team of superheroes, a team with people who always aimed high and did not deviate from their path to success, even in the most difficult times.

At UTILBEN we believe that honesty is an essential trait that must be adopted by each member of the team so that our business can be profitable. We often encountered situations where we had to choose between losing money and lying, but we always chose sincerity in business.

We want clients to remain our loyal customers for at least 20 years once they have purchased equipment from us. And this can only be achieved through an honesty towards our customers, our partners and our team. We offer high quality equipment, without any hidden flaws, and our customers know it. They know they can trust us, our products and services, because, before the equipment reaches their premises, it goes through a comprehensive technical inspection performed by our team.

We respond to customer enquiries within maximum of 48 hours from the moment they contacted us. The team’s structure and the technology we use allow us to offer swift and optimal solutions to our customers. The swiftness and efficiency we show is a result of our 15-year experience. We provide consulting services to our clients whenever they require guidance to make the best decision regarding the purchase of machinery, attachments our any other product and service we offer. Our team of consultants comprises skilled technicians that are specialised in heavy equipment, hence you can fully rely on our expertise and advice.

DEVELOPMENT:

Each of our employees is consistently engaged in improving their skills and gaining knowledge in their respective fields in order to achieve high performance, through the various development programs offered by UTILBEN. Bearing in mind the idea of ​​perseverance and enthusiasm shown by our founders in the first few years of their business, Ruben and Oana place great emphasis on continuous learning and improvement. They didn’t embark on this path while fully skilled either, thus they understand the importance of continuous development. Due to our organizational culture and to the multiple personal development programs provided by UTILBEN, each employee has the opportunity to grow individually.

 

Our goal and vision

Our goal is to contribute to a major shift in the Romanian business environment, by doing things with integrity and character in each area of our business, and also to inspire other entrepreneurs to do the same.

Our vision is that 1 our of 10 machines in Europe will ne supplied by UTILBEN.

 

All these values ​​together with an impeccable business conduct have led to a harmonious development of our company over the years.

Nevertheless, 2020 has been a challenging year for UTILBEN. After 10 years of continuous growth, the company recorded a decrease in turnover. However, thanks to our team’s determination and our digitalization process, the company’s turnover decreased by only 15%. The pandemic made our customers think twice before making a purchase. But despite this difficult situation, our team managed to sell over 300 machines in 2020.

 

Plans Utilben

 

2021 is shaping up to be a promising year. UTILBEN has already shown an increase of 10% compared to last year, and, in terms of the average value per transaction, we noticed an increase of 35% in comparison to 2020.

We have bold objective this year and we want to make significant investments. Some examples of investments we have in mind are: the development of after-sales services, an improved platform for the sale of spare parts and attachments, we will increase our equipment rental fleet and our Agribusiness business unit will grow. We are focusing on these goals because they represent strategic areas that are essential for our customers. We want to become the best service provider for machinery, with the highest degree of customer satisfaction.

In the next 3 years, we are planning to expand nationally through new branches in Bucharest, Timișoara and Iași. Our team will comprise 200 members, including sales specialists and qualified technicians.

Moreover, our team is ready for new goals that extend over the next 5 years, the most important aim being for UTILBEN to become an international company. We are already targeting several countries in Eastern and Central Europe.

Along with these two short-term and medium-term objectives, our long-term plan is to list UTILBEN on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in order to attract capital to support the accelerated growth rate to which our organization is accustomed.

 

We are very happy that we can share these great plans with our loyal customers, without whom we would not have gotten this far.
